Hello there! I’m Therese, or Trez (she/her). I am a community herbalist, a permaculture garden designer, an organic land care professional, a native plant & pollinator enthusiast, a forager, and self-described plant nerd. I am passionate about building mindful relationships with plants and the natural world, and sharing that connection to the wisdom of plants with my community. I enjoy growing, foraging, and educating others on medicinal & edible plants, supporting folks health & well-being with herbs, and making delicious herbal concoctions.

About

Therese has 6+ years experience as a Certified Western Herbalist, with 3 of those years including direct customer care at a small family-owned herb shop. Her certification came from Green Path Herb school in Missoula, Montana, where she attended their 6-month certification program in 2018. She is well-versed in native, medicinal, & edible plant identification, medicinal plant usage & materia medica, herbal formulations, herbal consultations, and herbal product-making including syrups, oxymels, salves, oils, tinctures and more.

In addition, she has a background in Permaculture & Advanced Social Systems Design from the Permaculture Women’s Guild online 72-hr Permaculture Design Course (PDC), and received accreditation as an Organic Land Care professional from the Northeast Organic Farming Association’s Organic Land Care Program (NOFA OLC) in 2021. She has worked or volunteered on several organic farms to gain hands-on farming experience, and volunteered on the Board of Soil Cycle Missoula, a bike-centered compost collection service and soil health education non-profit, where she also acted as the garden designer & manager for two years. She knows a thing or two about compost, soil health, and getting her hands in the dirt. She has designed and installed a number of successful native and medicinal plant garden installations for private clients.
